Aerionna Martin, 23, language arts teacher at School 43, started her career at the school two years ago.

She chose the school because “I really like the school and the location.”

She went to a small public school in Joliet, Illinois. She said she had many dreams of what she wanted to do in life. “I wanted to be a lot of things. I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be an author, a journalist and a doctor.”

She went to college at University of Notre Dame in South Bend. She majored in psychology. She graduated in 2017.

When she was younger, she was alone a lot because all of her cousins were boys. She has one older brother.

She likes her life away from the school. “I like to watch movies, go shopping with my friends, and play with my dog.”

Ms. Martin said she really enjoys working with kids, and that if she wasn’t a teacher, she would probably still be in school.
